Whispering Hope Stables – Horse Boarding in Raleigh, NC

Raleigh, NC, May 01, 2013 –(PR.com)– Whispering Hope Stables opened their horse boarding facility, which is conveniently located just minutes from downtown Raleigh, Apex, Cary and Holly Springs. Owned by Steve and Amy Peters, Whispering Hope Stables is the realization of Amy’s vision to turn the 70+ acre property that was once the Theys’ family home into Raleigh’s premier equestrian facility. When she first fell in love with the property, Amy, a Master Gardener candidate, envisioned using a portion of the land for gardening, and to pursue several charitable endeavors. She wants to raise her children in the same hard-working farming environment in which she and her husband were exposed to in Pennsylvania.
The Theys’ farm had boarded horses for over twenty years. The Peters family decided to improve the fencing and barns to be able to keep the horses where they had lived for so long. After committing to renovating the arena, the Peters’ were approached by several trainers asking to use the property as a training facility. After careful evaluation, Amy Peters partnered with Laurie Hutchinson, nationally ranked FEI Dressage Trainer, to manage the facility and head up the Training Department.
“As I began to realize that there was a need for a top-quality training facility in Raleigh, my picture of our family farm evolved into a place to bring hope to the community, as well as, start a horse boarding facility like no other in the Wake County area,” says Amy Peters. “I could not be more excited about having Ms. Hutchinson on our team. Whether while training, caring for the horses or working with our members, she embodies knowledge, positive attitude, and patience that fits in with our premier experience that we wish for each member to encounter.”
Laurie is a life-long equestrian. Ms. Hutchinson achieved national recognition in the hunter/ jumper ring as part of the College of Charleston’s IHSA team, winning four consecutive national championships. She then turned her focus to dressage and is currently nationally ranked in the top ten as part of the US Developing Horse program in the Grand Prix.
In addition to Hutchinson’s dressage program, Whispering Hope will be bringing in renowned hunter trainer, Beverly Burnette, and will be hosting clinics on a regular basis with top trainers in dressage, hunters, and eventing, as well as, speakers on such topics as equine nutrition, shoeing, and other topics equestrians love to discuss.
In addition to starting Whispering Hope Stables, Amy and her husband, Steve Peters, also started Whispering Hope Sport Horses. Whispering Hope Sport Horses was started to buy and sell international-quality dressage horses. In creating this entity, the Peters family partnered with Ms. Hutchinson to accomplish this goal. Laurie plans to compete Whispering Hope’s Hugo Boss the in USEF Young Horse Test for 6 year olds this spring.
The Peters Family and Ms. Hutchinson share the vision of combining a facility suitable for training their top sport horse prospects with a fun, family atmosphere that Wake County-area equestrians of all levels and interests can enjoy.
Amy could quickly identify that she wants to have a warm and friendly experience with each of WHS’ members. “Getting to know our members is so important to me as I wish to create a unique family experience that each person deserves when boarding your horse at a boarding facility,” says Mrs. Peters. In order to enhance these relationships, the Peters built the Crown Lounge, a warm and inviting room wrapped in salvaged barn wood and centered around a huge stone fireplace and bar.
With only 30 stalls, the Peters want to attract those that will enjoy the social aspects of sharing time with friends that enjoy a common interest. “Horses can be quite time consuming, whether they are your career or your hobby. A barn is very much a second home and it is important to be able to enjoy the people, as well as, the animals and time outside. It’s very important for us to have a positive, supportive atmosphere where both horses and people can enjoy the learning process,” says Laurie Hutchinson.
Whispering Hope is just 6 miles from downtown Raleigh near the borders of Cary and Apex. The existing barns have been fully renovated to include automatic waterers, mats, and new stall fronts. The new barn has been built to match and includes an indoor hot and cold wash area, laundry service, as well as, a private Tack Room. The all-new lighted arena features fantastic footing that is groomed daily and there are miles of cleared trails through hills overlooking Lake Wheeler. No detail has been spared in providing horses and riders the best of what country life has to offer.
