WALK FOR THE ANIMALS
Presented by VCA ANIMAL HOSPITALS
Sponsored by PETCO FOUNDATION, ED MORSE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP & MERIAL
To Benefit the Humane Society of Broward County
Fort Lauderdale, FL — Mark your calendars for the 23rd Annual Walk for the Animals, the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest annual fundraiser presented by VCA Animal Hospitals and sponsored by PETCO Foundation, Ed Morse Automotive Group and Merial.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Huizenga Plaza in Downtown Fort Lauderdale and is chaired by Jennifer Kennedy and Carey Morgan. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and the 1.25-mile walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. Honorary Chairs for the Walk include Jacey Birch of WPLG Local 10 News and Darlene Evens from 99.9 Kiss.
You don’t need a dog to join in the fun for this fabulous event. There will be a bounce house and face painting for the younger crowd; and everyone can enjoy complimentary pancakes from IHOP and live entertainment from the Thunderhead band and the Purina Incredible Dog Team. Participants are encouraged to visit sponsor booths to learn about new products and services and receive goodies.
According to last year’s sponsor, Kelwyn White from Nestle Purina, “We have participated in the Walk the past several years and it’s always a great event. It seems to just get bigger and better every year.”
There are a number of ways to get involved and help the shelter reach their $500,000 goal. Participants can create a personal fundraising page at www.Walk4theAnimals.com and ask friends, family and co-workers to make donations. Sponsorships are still available and range from $500 – $25,000 – for more details call Jennifer at 954-266-6817.
Have a group of friends or co-workers that are pet lovers? Form a Pack or team and raise a minimum of $1,500. The 2013 Walk brings exciting, new opportunities for Packs to strut their stuff and win some great prizes. Some ideas to help you or your pack reach your fundraising goals are hosting a bake sale, a dog wash or a book sale. The more money you raise the more goodies you earn. And, this year’s top three fundraisers will enjoy a 2-night/ 3-day stay at a luxurious Kimpton Hotel in a city of their choice!
Sponsors for the 2013 Walk for the Animals include: Purina, Tidy Cat, Pet Supermarket, Angels’ Eyes, Verizon Wireless, BB&T, Hair Cuttery, Emerald Hills Pharmacy, GEO Group, Country Inn Pet Resort, Katz Barron Squitero Faust, Pfizer, Service America, Oasis Outsourcing, La Croix, Funderdome, Brown & Brown, Broward Health, City County Credit Union, Four Paws, Boehringer Ingelheim, Alpha Dog Marketing, Stiles, IHOP, Jimmy John’s, Wizard Creations, WPLG Local 10, 99.9 KISS Country, Publix, Kimpton Hotels, Trueba Media, Mack Planet and DB Digital Media.
